Cylinder Series

Hydraulic cylinders sized to your machine

HXG Hydraulics supplies industrial hydraulic cylinders grouped by construction series. Each series is defined by its body design, bore range, stroke options, and operating limits, so you can narrow the range before comparing details.

Most international orders begin with three questions: which construction suits the duty cycle, which bore and stroke fit the machinery envelope, and which seals match the hydraulic fluid in use. The sections below answer each one in turn.

Construction Series

Three cylinder constructions

Welded Body

Welded body cylinders

Barrel and end caps are welded to form a compact, rigid unit. This construction suits space-limited machinery where a short, stiff cylinder with a straightforward envelope is required.

Tie-Rod

Industrial tie-rod cylinders

Tie rods clamp the end caps to the barrel, allowing the body to be disassembled for seal service. This design is common in heavy industrial duty where maintainability and serviceable sealing are priorities.

Telescopic

Long-stroke telescopic cylinders

Nested stages extend to deliver long stroke lengths within a shorter retracted length. Telescopic configurations are selected where installation space is limited but extended reach is required.

Mounting Options

Choose the mount for your layout

Mount style determines how the cylinder attaches and how loads transfer into the structure. Confirm the mount against your drawing before ordering.

Clevis

Clevis mounts

A clevis mount pins the cylinder at one end, allowing rotation in a single plane. It is a common choice where the load moves through a fixed arc.

Trunnion

Trunnion mounts

Trunnion pins on the barrel allow the cylinder to pivot along its length. This suits applications where the actuation angle changes during the stroke.

Flange

Flange and cross-tube mounts

Flange and cross-tube mounts fix the cylinder rigidly to a structure. They are selected when the load runs along the cylinder axis and the mounting surface must stay stationary.
